Cash Maple Preliminary Pipeline Routing Study

Atteris performed a preliminary pipeline routing study for a potential gas export pipeline from the Cash Maple field. The preliminary pipeline routing study considered a number of different tie-in locations to existing or planned future pipelines. Atteris also performed tie-in studies and high level cost estimates to further inform the route selection process. The study was used as a basis for the development of a geophysical & geotechnical survey scope of work – the survey should occur in Q2 2017.
Background
PTTEP is planning to develop the Cash Maple gas field in the Timor Sea off northern Western Australia. The project is currently in the preliminary concept stage. A potential opportunity includes an export pipeline from the Cash-Maple field to tie-in points on nearby existing or planned subsea pipelines.
Work Performed by Atteris

Over a study duration of a few months Atteris’ concept study team:

  • Developed a number of concept level pipeline routes for the Cash Maple pipeline
  • Identified potential hazards and obstacles along the proposed pipeline routes
  • Assessed the feasibility and cost of crossing a large subsea canyon (200 m deep, 2 km wide, with side slopes exceeding 50° in some locations)
  • Assessed various pipeline tie-in options including hot tap tees, piggable wyes and cut-in tees
  • Developed high level cost estimates for the various pipeline routes and tie-in options
  • Reviewed and provided input to the geophysical survey campaign and geotechnical site investigation scope of work.
