Clio Acme Routing and Survey Support

Clio Acme Routing and Survey Support

Benefits
Atteris assessed potential routing corridors and infield areas in order to define survey requirements for potential tieback routes. The pre-survey assessment work informed the survey scope and ensured all relevant factors were considered. The assessment of the survey data collected confirmed the validity of the pre-survey work assumptions, validated the benefit of pre-survey assessments. And provided a firm basis for FEED engineering to proceed.
Background
Chevron was investigating development alternatives of the Clio and Acme fields, located approximately 100km northwest of BWI in water depths of approximately 900m. A number of possible options were considered to process the Clio Acme gas through existing liquefaction facilities, including a subsea tieback to either Pluto or Wheatstone infrastructure, via shallow water or deepwater pipeline routing alternatives.

Work Performed by Atteris

Atteris provided an experienced pipelines team equipped with in house developed automated engineering processes to propose refine and select route corridor options for survey for the various potential tie-backs. Route corridor selection included consideration of multiple issues, including geohazards, seabed roughness, and current and future field layouts. Given the challenging nature of the seabed in much of the development area a detailed route scoring algorithm was utilised to allow efficient assessment of route corridors, and to present the information in a simple and informative manner. Following the survey, the collected data was assessed, confirming the surveyed areas as suitable and adequate for future FEED, and preliminary routes were defined for priority tie-back options.
