Woodside Persephone Tie-in Analysis Verification

Woodside Persephone Tie-in Analysis Verification

Benefits
Atteris performed verification of the tie-in and in-place analysis of the flexible flowline performed by NOV to ensure correct and appropriate design loads for the FMC UCON-H connectors are defined. Atteris provided additional input to the design by confirming the tie-in loads based on the proposed installation orientations and updated approach routings, and analysed installation methodologies to reduce the bending moment on the connectors.
Background
The Persephone Field is located in approximately 126 m water depth, approximately 6.5 km NE of the North Rankin Complex and 135 km NNW of Karratha, WA. The Persephone subsea architecture will comprise of two wells tied-in to a subsea production manifold at a common drill centre location, via well jumpers. From the manifold, the production fluid will be transported to the North Rankin Complex, via a 12 inch flexible flowline into a rigid riser via the SE1 conductor slot on North Rankin A.
Work Performed by Atteris

Throughout the duration of the project, Atteris’ team of engineers:

  • Compared Atteris’ tie-in analysis results against NOV’s results and the allowable loads
  • Performed a parametric study to determine the sensitivity of the tie-in loads against soil friction, flexible pipe stiffness and approach routing
  • Performed further analysis considering the actual installation orientations and the planned modifications in the flexible routings at the approach
  • Perform sensitivity analyses to determine potential methods to reduce the bending moment on the connectors in the parked configuration.
