Benefits
Atteris performed verification of the umbilical J-Tube pull-in analysis performed by Oceaneering and Subsea 7. Through this work, Atteris provided additional confidence to Woodside by performing sensitivity analysis, specifically looking at a range of friction factors and a range of J-Tube seal engagement forces to determine the worst case required pull-in load. This enabled Woodside to confirm the required capacity of the topside pull-in winch as well as the integrity of the umbilical during the pull-in.
Background
The Persephone Field is located in approximately 126 m water depth, approximately 6.5 km NE of the North Rankin Complex and 135 km NNW of Karratha, WA. The Persephone subsea architecture will comprise of two wells tied-in to a subsea production manifold at a common drill centre location, via well jumpers. Control and monitoring of the subsea wells will be managed from the North Rankin Complex control room via an electro-hydraulic umbilical. The umbilical will deliver electrical power and signal, low and high pressure hydraulic fluid, and chemicals to each wellhead via a subsea distribution unit. The umbilical will be pulled into an existing J2 J-tube on the NRB platform.
