CP for Cased Pipelines in Shore Crossings - Challenges in Design

This paper presents an overview of cathodic protection (CP) validation techniques utilised in the project delivery of two recent cased pipeline installations at shore crossings in Australia.

It discusses the complexities across changing electrolytes and details CP system calculations within casings. The practical limitations of existing CP monitoring equipment and the implications for the ongoing integrity management of pipelines within these installations are also discussed.
